After his storming first selection back in March of this year (Podcast #66 – 16.05.12 Hironobu Jyounai (PRIMO)), we are pleased to present a second mix from Japanese DJ and producer Hironobu Jyounai (PRIMO) of PRIMO fame and just like it’s first, it’s jam-packed with quality gears. Things start with a swinging version from Boillat Therace Quintet of Freddie Hubbard’s ‘Gibraltar’ and there’s more fast tempo jazz from Italian band Idea 6 and Californian jazz group Quintessence. Elsewhere, we get classic and rare business from the Frits Pauer Trio, Al Tanner Quintet, Jazz Hip Trio and Axen Jaedig Jazz Group, before the brilliant trumpeter Lee Morgan shines on ‘Our Man Higgins’ from his 1965 ‘Cornbread’ album. Finally, we have the beautiful ‘Get Along In My Life’ from Japanese jazz act Native and an amazing version of ‘You’ve Got To Have Freedom’ from Ed Kelly and Pharoah Sanders. A seriously recommended listen… we thank you for listening!
